Back Driving Torque

There is a variety of formula’s which can be useful for linear motion applications. Lintech has some useful tools on their website for quick solutions to common questions. For instance, in a vertical motion application where a ball screw is being utilized, you may want to know how much force is required to hold the load in place should power be lost.

Back Driving

By choosing the “Apps” link on the right side of the Lintech home page, then clicking on “back drive torque”, you can bring up a calculator for determining the required torque to hold the load in place. Then you can specify a brake to perform the task in that event. There are a few other calculators there to help in your design process.
